National Farmer's Union (110Kb) SpecIT™ was employed to assess the functionality of human resources and payroll software
while observing rigid budgetary and time constraints. The NFU had already spent over a year assessing possible systems but
SpecIT™ provided a significantly shorter response and analysed over 250 vendors to
identify a completely new short-list of solutions.
Jessops (102Kb)
In the National headquarters of Jessops (Leicester), SpecIT™ was employed to assess best fit
for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) requirements across 230 nationwide outlets in addition
to tele-sales demands.
Pace Microtechnology (117Kb)
A complete reorganisation of management structure and wide-ranging plans for rapid growth prompted the replacement of ageing IT
systems including a "green screen" MRP system. The company started a SpecIT™ project in
June 99 and made a purchasing decision in October. Implementation began in January 2000 and the system was live by June of the
same year, just under six months later.
Smiths Detection (137Kb)
The SpecIT™ report (produced in days rather than weeks) listed 10 'Best of Breed' ERP
options, based on the perfectly assessed functionality points targeted by the questionnaire. Smiths Detection selected four for
interview and then narrowed it down to two for site visits - all in the time period of a few weeks.
Molins Tobacco Machinery (132Kb) SpecIT™ was first used to specify the requirements for the manufacturing facility within
Molins. Due to tough time constraints, the whole process from initial meeting with MMG to signing of contracts with the supplier
was performed in three months. A second project was then undertaken, looking at Financials, Sales and Procurement.
Prism Leisure Plc (116Kb)
The challenge to Prism Leisure was that its ERP system had not been updated in the five years since installation, when the company
was turning over £34m p.a. across 1500 product lines. In 2003, the estimated turnover is £92m across 6000 products and the
requirements have now changed dramatically. A major investment in a new system was required that would take Prism "a long way
ahead of its competitors".
